Presidential Candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) Fela Durotoye has urged Nigerians not to be discouraged in exercising their civic rights despite the postponement of the 2019 general elections. Do not be disappointed, this is the reason we need a new Nigeria,” Durotoye said in a video. Nigeria’s electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the general elections a few hours to the commencement. However, Durotoye believes that the election period is the opportunity for Nigerians to make the country a better place, thus urging them not to be discouraged. INEC said the presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on February 23 while the governorship and state houses of assembly elections will take place on March 9.
